Parabens in our products
So while recently dealing with my special customer who is looking on to try her first Mary Kay product (it was actually for her mother), This paraben thing might be the reason for not buying Mary Kay. What in world is this Paraben thing ? Before doing my own study on this I knew that I shouldn’t buy skincare products with paraben because it is somehow kinda bad. I don’t even know why or bother to care since it’s the norm. Paraben = bad. Thats is the norm right now. But is it actually true?
So after being bombarded by questions on parabens I finally decided that I need to look into the studies made before on this chemical. Scientific proof is the best. At least its a fact and not just someone’s own opinion after hearing from others and the other hearing from the others. You know what I mean? But of course its easier to just hear what others has to say sometimes rather than studying on your own as it took more time. But you might distance yourself from the truth!
So what is this Paraben thing? Its a common ingredient which serves as a preservatives in various product such as skincare, cosmetic, shampoo, soap etc. Paraben also works as an anti-bacterial which preturbs bacteria and mold growth which can make the product last longer.
Its definitely safe under a certain concentration as in all ingredient in the world. Excess of anything can be toxic to our body. Excessive water can be toxic too! Should we ban water too?
Whats the fuss about ?
Parabens are said to be one of the culprit for breast cancer. It is said that parabens can act like an estrogen although naturally occuring estrogen in our body activity are significantly wayy higher than paraben.
The facts so far :
The Food and Drug Administration FDA which controls ingredient and chemical in products have so far found zero studies that show the effects of paraben to human health.
The public are really terrified by the media spreading these claims and most brands capitalise the situation by ignoring the facts
